I've heard a lot of praise over the years for this one but never knew anyone that had it. Anyone here got opinions? All I can tell from the KS is that it's really visually noisy.
I greatly enjoyed it on my first play, but it completely bottomed out on the second. It was weird and it felt so fresh, but you see all there is to see all at once.
EDIT: Given how readily the KS boasts “Tons of new content” and replayability, I couldn’t have been the only one to feel how I did. I’m curious to see what they added because Christ did it need it.
I soloed the first edition a couple of times. It was visually super busy and the rule book was a mess. As was much of the game - especially the scenario endings.
But it had some cool things going for it. One of the best was how you, when you killed zombies, had to physically drop cubes to a small card board tombstone. If some fell off, they went back into the game. And the city also felt sort of real for some reason. There was a lot of potential in the game, but it was overly long, overly complex and overly difficult to play.
Looking at the new edition it doesn't seem like they've done much to make the game easier to play neither when it comes to game play nor graphics.
