My local game store is doing LIVE game sales on the Internet. First day, but damn, they got something going on. Take a peek if you see this in the next hour.

Kaos Ball for $10. Worth it?

I didn't buy Kaos Ball because none of you got back to me!

There were some good games at good prices, mostly Euro. But! Their top price category was $10 so you can't expect too much heavy stuff for that. The big box of Arctic Scavengers went for $10. $5 shipping, any number of games.

More to come, schedule here if anyone is interested -- thirdeyecomics.com/thirdeyelive/?fbclid=...KJq-Qlif6y2Eo60xbQLs . I should post this in Steals & Deals, at least for now, because this first show had some great prices.

Sorry, I didn't see this until now. Kaos Ball is... okay. It plays much more like a chess match than something like Blood Bowl. I guess for $10 it's okay, but it is not what I'd call an exciting sports board game.

I'd much rather pay full price for Techno Bowl than $10 for Kaos Ball.

Glad I held off then. Thanks!

This looks to be pretty neat in the coming days. It still has that garage band feel to it.

I think this was the most enjoyable shop I've done in a while just because of the camaraderie. We'll see how long that lasts.

Festung Europa for five dollars.

Counter opinion - Kaos Ball is a ton of fun. Just don't expect it to be anything like football.

For 10? Kaosball is totally worth $10.
I have the entire Kaosball system. I was an early adopter and bought every damn thing. And then because I'm a maniac, I bought the league edition/kit. And then then because I'm a bigger maniac, I bought the two direct-to-retail league kits. AND THEN BECAUSE I'M THE BIGGEST MANIAC OF ALL - I had Eric Lang sign my rulebooks.

And... I don't care for Kaosball. Great production value. Clever card mechanic. Very fun leveling up system, and MVPs, and team distinctions. But the game is just not as "sporty" as I'd like.

My group has doubled down on DreadBall. We ain't moving from that. If anybody lives close to DC, and wants to buy the whole Kasoball enchilada from me - it'll cost ya a bit more than $10.

Yeah, I'm guessing if it's Eric Lang there's no dice in it? That's kind of a showstopper for me. I don't care for auctions and his whole rock-paper-scissors thing has worn itself out with me.

All that said it was ten bucks. Pretty good deal. My guess is that this was their out-of-the-gate session and they wanted to get some word out on low prices and some interesting stuff to catch people's attention. Today's theme is "Board Game Spotlight Show" and with luck they'll put up some stuff a little higher up the price chain that grabs my attention more. That said, Arctic Scavengers big box for $10 just made someone very happy.

There's a comic book side of this as well if anyone is interested. You can combine. I figure I can always throw in a Doctor Aphra trade paper to get me over the minimum $20 purchase.

There is a die but it's only used for breaking ties.

When I asked Eric to sign my rulebooks, he and I had a quick conversation.
Eric, "What's your favorite faction?"
Andrew, "The Lycanthropes! What do you think the chances are of a second edition?"
Eric, "I love Kaosball, and would love to revisit it. But I would only do so if there was an issue to improve. And right now? I don't see any issues."
-2018 Origins Game Fair

That said, he was very generous with his time and a nice guy.
