Restoration Games & Mondo have teamed up again for more Unmatched expansions. Slated throughout 2021, they introduced 4 sets of Marvel characters.

Redemption Row – featuring Luke Cage, Ghost Rider, and Moon Knight
Hell’s Kitchen – featuring Daredevil, Elektra, and Bullseye
Teen Spirit – featuring Ms. Marvel, Squirrel Girl, and Cloak and Dagger
For King and Country – featuring Black Widow, Black Panther, and Winter Soldier

Personally, I'm excited about the 3 player option. Although, I've already been playing a lot of 3 player matches; 1 v 1 v 2.

Ugh. Am I cray-cray or was one of the appeals of Unmatched the fact that it didn't use the typical license-du-jour Marvel/Star Wars approach? Does the world need yet another Marvel minis skirmish game? I'm sure it will goose sales and all, but still... disappointing.

I'm of two minds. I love the literature based heroes but I also love the pop culture ones too. I'll be worried if the pop culture ones become too dominant but I'm under the impression Restoration Games is in charge of the unlicensed stuff while Mondo does the licensed stuff. This split of responsibilities should hopefully ensure that both types of releases get equal love?

I think that's right.
I too, prefer the public domain characters.
But if these sort of tie-ins "keep the lights on," so be it.

I think it may be a different story if the game's IP characters were using canned art. Instead, they're getting top notch illustrators to do really great work. I wasn't crazy about the Jurassic Park or Bruce Lee expansions at first - but damnit if the artwork didn't help spin my opinion around.

The stylized Marvel art does look pretty good, I will give it that.
