DUNE IS COMING!!!...BACK!!!

FFG announced that they did in fact get the reprint rights to Dune. Not just the game system but the license as well. I've never played the old version, but as a fan of the books I'm really looking forward to this. Here's a link in case you think I'm joking (I'm aware of the date irony).

FFG Announces First Videogame!


Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce the first in what we plan to be a series of videogames, available in HD across all next-gen platforms beginning April 1st, 2009.

"This has been a long time coming," said Agnes Petrovic, FFG's Electronic Gaming Director. "We have a whole host of amazing versions of nearly all our games, but we wanted to start with the most amazing!"

The first game will be available for download beginning at 6:00pm Central Daylight Time (0:00 GMT) on all three next-gen gaming networks at a reasonable cost.

"Twilight Imperium was FFG's first game, so it was natural for our first videogame to be based in this immersive universe," added Richard Irving Lucard, FFG's Marketing Intern. "At least, that's what Corey told me to say. I don't know, I'm just an intern."

As for game mechanics, the ancient game of Pétanque was the inspiration, but with a thoroughly modern twist.

FFG worked with the creative teams at the production companies of Freaky Ocelot in Saint Paul, Minnesota and Online Life in Zagreb to create something we're very proud of, and we know you'll enjoy it too!
