If any of you south of the border types are still sober enough to use the internets, the Tanga deal today might be of interest. One of the comments on the other site is that it is sort of a Fantasy ASL. If they shipped to Canada, I'd jump on it.

If someone wanted to do a Canuck a favor for some small remuneration, they could pick it up then ship it this way, hint, hint.

I've wanted to check out this game for a while but the price was always steep and I didn't know if anyone around here would be interested. Of course, what I'd do with the other 4 copies is a bit beyond me...

I'm a bit aggravated I missed the $8 copy, but I pulled the trigger on this since the price is only a hair above online-retail and, I just discovered, a couple of local friends have played it and recommend it. I'll pass a copy along to a friend and probably keep a 2nd copy for the parts.

If you really want one, drop me a line and we'll work it out. I'd be happy to go the $8+shipping (to Canada, which will suck, I'm sure) that Tanga had previously offered it at. Got a 2nd friend who'd be interested? Easier, and ultimately cheaper, I think, to send 2... Probably cheaper still if I punch it before sending [amazing what those counter trees and misc. crap thrown into the box can add to the weight)

Yes, I'm interested. I think it will be a tough sell getting a wargamer interested in fantasy but hopefully it will be appealing to a fantasy player, so one copy is probably enough ;). Thanks Dogmatix.

edit: ahh, I was confused by your reply, but I see now the deal has changed from the $8 for one copy to buying a case for $40.

edit no.2: I should just make new posts, that way I can hit puberty one of these days. Anyways, right now it's a 6 pack for 50 bucks (including shipping), so I'm good with chipping in a bit more to cover your time and effort.

Yea, the whole "buy a case" thing was a bit of a drag, but I'm sure I'll be able to pawn the additional copies off in relative short order. If this is the same seller that has offered a few of these "buy a case for the retail price of 1 game" deals in the past through Tanga, I suspect it will be a good month before the games arrive. I'll ping you when they finally land...

Done and done. Same deal as Tanga...$8 + shipping...

I expect I'll have the crate in 3ish weeks; I'll send out a note when they arrive.

Also, if anyone else is interested in a copy, let me know. There's at least 2 more available. :)

Paypal is no problem. Shipping to AUS will, of course, be stupidly priced. I'll give an option for sending a punched or unpunched copy if punching makes a significant impact on weight as every friggin' ounce makes a difference to USPS international postage.

Your copy is reserved; I'll send along paypal info as soon as I'm ready to ship. :)

Well, if it is possible to ship to AUS, would it be a problem to ship to Czech Republic (Europe)?

EDIT: this means I am interested in any available copy too.

If there is still a copy to be had, I'd be interested.

Ok folks

All 5 (Frank, Barnes, LVT, Sydo, and the canuck who started it all) who requested this have copies reserved [the 6th one is mine, of course]!

Cost will be $8+ shipping; paypal accepted and preferred [though, if any of the North Americans aren't paypal users, international MO or personal check in US funds works too].

No problems shipping to any corner of the globe, and, for Frank and Sydo, the crap US$ value currently should help cut down on some of the ridiculous USPS shipping costs.

As mentioned before, I don't expect the games for a few weeks, but I'll turn them around almost immediately. I'm hoping this weighs less than 4 lbs [for comparison, an unpunched 1960: Making of the President weighs 5.5 lbs.] to cut down on shipping costs; however, I do seem to recall that it's quite a brick.

Thanks a lot, can't wait to try the game, it looks great! Actually, the artwork resembles one of Chvatil's early games made for czech RPG magazine in the 90's (about 1995). The game was called Síla Oceli (The Power of Steel) and it was about a conflict between a barbarian and a necromancer. Small tactical game with illustrations strongly resembling those in PoCh. I think I still have those paper figures somewhere.
Last edit: 07 Jul 2009 05:20 by sydo. Reason: it's not "the Chvatil" :)

...and the canuck who started it all

I'd just like to say that I have no idea if the game is any good or not. I've just been curious about the game and the price was right. At least with all these Fatties getting the game someone is bound to throw together a decent review/first impression of the game, right? Of course Barnes won't be able to because it's readily available, but I'm sure someone else will step up.

And the other bright side is that there will probably be copies available for other interested people in a future Fatty math trade, cause I'm guessing it's going to be a bit of work getting it to the table for some folks.

By the way, thanks to the 5 of you who made buying and dispersing a crate of games take about as little time as it took to buy them.
