Descent Quest was created by metalface13
Has anybody checked out this Descent
variant
?
The guy combined the Warhammer Quest format of random dungeon and no Overlord with Descent. Looks pretty cool. I'm hoping to check it out sometime soon.

That does look cool. I'm missing two of the expansions it uses, though. Argh. If anyone tries it, let us know how it plays.

He has done a great job. I have WHQ and not really a fan of the whole "No DM" thing so I havn't actually tried it, but if that is what you are after then this variant should make you happier than a pig in shit.

Aye. When we play WHQ, we always use a DM.
He *DID* do a nice job. Best part is that he reigned in the painful spawn rate which are so very annoying in both of the source games.
Sad thing is that many of the modern dungeon crawls forgot that most GMs just kind of ignored the wandering monster rules, and make fun of them.

So very very very tempted to print this out. That's the dealbreaker though, I actually to need to print stuff out. And also memorize a new set of rules. Oh well. Looked fun. Enjoyed reading the rules.

There's a VASSAL module for the cards, though. So if you have a laptop or even a desktop handy, you can use that. I'll definitely give this a go, and there's zero chance of me actually printing anything out. The rules themselves are trivial.

There aren't that many cards though. Only like 10 pages worth of cards? All you need to do is print it on regular paper, cut them out and stick them in some card sleeves with some cards already in them.
