I've got no problems with set up time. Getting the food/drinks in order, a quick rules refresher for some players while others are getting things ready, and plenty of warm up trash talking means setup is never an issue.

To me, my BIG BOX games are those I play almost exclusively with the boys. Conquest of the Empire, Diplomacy and Samurai Swords come instantly to mind. There is a time and place for those games and there really is an epic feel there for me that I enjoy and have anticipation for. I know I want to play well and find myself competitive and strategizing in those games.

Regular Box games such as Ticket to Ride, Scotland Yard, I'm the Boss, Monopoly etc. are always couples... or a mixed group of both guys and girls. That is primarily about socializing, having a good time, enjoying the game and catching up. Usually involves appetizers and wine and hanging out as well.

Both are a blast; just in different ways. The BIG BOX game experience just always seems more epic, though... its much more rare and so it is a little bit more about the game.

I simply like long games. Like, a lot more, and longer than most of you would consider sane (I am finishing up my second Clash of Monarchs campaign right now). Shorter games are completely missing something for me, though I can still enjoy them. In some ways the longer the better. I'd rather get through 1/4 of a long game than a short game. I just like epic game narrative and the chance to rebound from difficult situations over time.

I really prefer a game that runs at least 2 hours.

Same here. As they say, size matters.

I love setting up and packing up my games. Gives me bit more time with them, and I'm a bit anal about where things go in the box. Makes things more efficient for future games.

For me, 2-4 hours is the best amount of time for a game, barring exceptions like Twilight Imperium, anything longer than 4 hours starts to drag. (Yes, I'm looking at you Descent.)
