Does anyone know what the hell Melissa is talking about re: her not writing for BGN anymore?

There was a recent discussion about blogging/reviewing vs. shilling. I also know Melissa's involvement with Agricola. I'm just curious if anyone knows if she is responding to something specific.

Seemingly she didn't like some of the nastier fallout from having her name associated with Agricola.

I have no idea what any of that was about, but this comment was comedy gold.

So she did, by her claim, hundreds of hours of work, and all she got was a free copy of Agricola, some animeeples, and this lousy t-shirt? (Seriously.) This makes me think two things:

1. Sucker.
2. It's not enough for Eurogamers to play peon, they actually have to be it as well.

Something that seems to be missing in English is a word that means "a playing of a game." Actually, that's not quite right--the words are there, but they're used only for sports (and for some very formal tournaments).

German has Partie (so does French).

English almost has it, with:

Every time a "BGG celebrity" thinks anyone really gives a damn about their current "problem," the hobby dies a little bit more.

Well, you could just write her you know. That's what I did. Basically my impression is that she simply got sick of being called a shill for the Gric. And the negativity got to her. When a hobby stops being fun what is the point?
