Suggestions for a title like Betrayal At the House on the Hill...

Anyone have any suggestions for something like Betrayal at the House on the Hill WITHOUT the flow grinding halts/janky haunts?

I have heard pretty much universally that Betrayal Legacy runs more smoothly. Betrayal at Baldur's Gate does as well.

Coma Ward looks like Betrayal with a different theme; possibly better playtested than Betrayal first edition but still flawed.

Coma Ward seems to have had a bunch of issues and some very negative reviews.

I like Chill, and I had a lot of fun with it in the 80s. But deep down? I always liked Call of Cthulhu better.

Black Morn Manor has a lot of old school charm, but it's a product of its time. Looking at some of the prices on BGG? I'd say pass unless unless you are a super fan (I am a super fan of the genre).

Side bar: I have a group getting ready to start the fourth chapter in Betrayal Legacy. Time may tell, but so far? It's kind of 'meh....'
