Got to enforce that GW Blood Bowl monopoly with an iron fist, don't you think? They should have placed that iron fist inside of a velvet glove. From what I've observed, open innovation and independent miniature teams have kept fantasy football on life support ever since GW created a vacuum and abandoned this game. Can an open and independent environment continue to survive the upcoming GW Blood Bowl reboot? Do you think that this is a step backward, or, rather, is it an optimistic sign that GW is planning on making a heavy investment in the Blood Bowl miniature line to make it a rebooted success since independent and non-GW teams won't be allowed on the pitch?

I think any game played at Warhammer World would require official GW minis. I mean, isn't that GW's headquarters?

This should serve as a general reminder that, regardless of the business culture, Corporate Legal/Contracts can, and often does, run on autopilot when it comes to swift and severe retribution for violation of terms & conditions. GW is making a lot of interesting moves under the new leadership, but this part of the biz is going to largely be the same draconian crew we've all come to know and fear and jeer for the last 15 years no matter who is driving the business these days. (Corporate legal--for any company--generally only has 2 answers in it's quiver: "No." and "We'll need to take that up with Outside Counsel." I've long learned to let other people take the lead when it comes to dealing with Legal as the only thing that is a complete unknown is how long they're going to dick around before actually issuing one or both of those responses. )

If those rumors are close to true, Comixinos' actions would border on Felony Stupid as there's no excuse for not knowing how GW legal/contracts would react to any deviations....
