Have you guys heard of this game coming out called Corunea? It is described as a Role Card Game. Yeah, that's right. It's a cross between an RPG and a CCG. There are several different classes. You can engage in 1 vs. 1 duels that play more like a traditional CCG, but there are also adventures to go on. Oh and there are no levels of card rarity. The whole thing sounds totally bonkers. But bonkers in that revolutionary way. I'm not sure if it has a U.S. release yet, but I may just be lured in by something like this.
Oh, here's the web site.

Wow, without getting into too many of the details (just went through the tutorial) - this looks flipping sweet. My only concern is how they handle the adventures. Guess I'll just look into it more. Huge selling point though is no rarity. I think this is good stuff. Also need to look into this company - Insight Games. They done anything else or is this it?
Thanks for the heads up!

I dunno if they've done anything else. I'm pretty interested in this myself. One game to satisfy both the RPG and CCG itch without having to spend tons of time coming up with a campaign and without the spending lots of money on booster packs. Well, I mean I'd still probably buy a bunch of adventure packs, but no rares is cool.

Has anyone heard anything further about this game? The banner ads on the geek piqued my interest but the whole concept seems a bit.... flimsy.

I'm doubtful this will be any good though I hope I'm wrong. Despite its flaws, I like Arcadia. It needed a little tweaking to make the game play ok though.

Sorry to necrothread, but this game is DIRT cheap now at Funagain (all three starters can be had for under 6.50 each) It doesn't seem like the game is going to be supported anymore, did anyone actually play it? I'm seriously considering grabbing all three, even with shipping it'd only run about $25

It's well worth picking up - I like it a lot (though I've only played the direct combat game - not the adventure.)
It is one of the most finely granulated melee games I've played and the collectible element is neglible (in fact, making it collectible was an error in judgement by the publisher, you can only have one of each card in your deck, you're unlikely to access more than 20% of your deck during a game and you get to pick your opening hand. The one expansion was non-collectible.)
It's more of a fantasy combat simulator than a CCG.
