I agree on mash-up T's being stupid, except there was one that a guy at an Ashes tournament at GenCon had on that made me smile.
I think the colors really work here. The t-shirt company called it "bulba-fett," but I pronounced it in my head as "Bobasaur," which sounds like something a 4-year-old with a speech impediment would actually say. I'm not sure if it's because I was into Pokémon Go or what.
The best child bulbasaur mispronunciation that I've ever heard has to be vulvasaur though. Maybe if Poots designs a pokemon game...
These big cons are good places to go if there is a fandom/tournament scene for a game you're really into, especially if the cons are the only time that these tournaments really happen. I spent 80% of my time at Heroscape tournaments for a few years at GenCon and had a good time. Then it shifted to working a booth. The networking that goes on in the evenings and chances for artists to find publishers is really what it's all about. These dinners and the cash from sales are essential to publishers.
