I've had this Shelf Toad for a few months and will probably never get it played locally.

http://play.boardgamecore.net/main.jspBoardgamecore has a pretty decent rules-enforced version available but it can only be played in real-time. It also has a great Antiquity implementation which can be played asynchronously, and I would also be down to play.

Great game, I think there are plenty of people on this site who would enjoy it and I recommend checking it out. I am up for playing but my time zone is seven hours ahead so impractical unless you are interested in a post- lunch weekend meet (or asynch)

WSDV can't be played asynch but Antiquity can, if you're interested.

I don’t know much about Antiquity but willing to give it a go!

My only concern is that my antivirus is strenuously working to keep me out of boardgamecore, apparently it’s on a url shitlist somewhere. By the way, TTS also has WSDV along with the 2+2 expansion. In other news I bought a physical copy of both today because I found a bargain price, but mainly due to a combination of this thread and an apparent inability to stop giving a warm home to weird looking toads.

Antiquity is great, it's a shelf toad of mine I've only played once. It's a real brain burner.

If you’ll suffer a newbie I wouldn’t mind getting involved in async Antiquity.

Can we do three or even four player Antiquity? I am also a newb, but sounds like the kind of game where everyone is!

It's really interesting. It's a building game that's making the ecological point that your building is unsustainable and you're using up everything for your building in order to get VPs rather than building up things you should feel good about at the end. The state at the end is worse than the state at the beginning, besides you winning the game.

Will the website work in spite of your antiviral software?

We still run into the problem of having to play live with Tabletop Simulator.

Yup, I know that impulse all too well.

Sure! The most important thing to know about Anitquity is you NEVER want to run out of wood. It's an unforgiving game.

For anyone wanting to play, you'll need to sign up with Boardgamecore, then DM me your login name. We can play up to 4.

Nice, I’m sornars over there as well. Being unforgiving seems to be a key part of the Splotter oeuvre. I’ll have to read the rules but I can do that soonish.

I’m traveling this week and sort of disconnected, but Antiquity is super fun in an aggravating Splotter way. I remember some F:AT games of this way back when. I’d be in if possible. To the thread title, I’d also try to make some time for Wir Sind das Volk, but I’d be new at it. It’s something that never made it to my toad shelf, just the hazy toad wishlist. My timezone is pretty close to Pacific as well.

That's right! I think I played my last game of Antiquity with F:ATties 9 years ago (!!!).

I've only soloed WSDV a couple of times so I am a newbie(ish) as well. When you're settled back at home, DM me and we'll set something up.

I'm in on bgcore, I think it was just the unsecure url that was giving the AV a heart attack. Same username on there (mezike).

Apparently you can run WSDV async but I read that it's buggy if you don't play it live, happy to play Antiquity in case!

edit: do we want to open a chat thread on the discord server rather than using the forums?
