Trashdome - Call Of Cthulhu VS Game Of Thrones LCG

WELCOME TO TRASHDOME!

This is part of a series of bloody matches to the death. Show support for your favorite game so it will do better in the fight. You can support it by writing why you think its the better game and more importantly by betting on it. End your first post in this thread with the title of the game you're placing a bet on (i.e. voting for) so its clear to me when reading it later. You have until Friday when I tally the bets and declare the winner. Counting expansions or not is entirely up to you just as playing with them or not is. I will reserve my bet for any tie-breakers.

Although you should be familiar with both games, there is no rule that says you have to have played both of them. The only rule in Trashdome is this;

24 hours later and still not a single comment. Despite a bunch of people listing at least one of these as a favorite.

Worst. Trashdome. Ever.

I blame Skeletor and Juniper.

Does anybody play these?

I've played each game once. I can't really say which is better.

I played AGoT CCG a bunch (including a regional (NW) tourney) across two blocks, then bailed because the tourney scene dried up (and I didn't like where the game was going). Haven't played it since the LCG conversion.

I played CoC CCG once, and never the LCG. It seemed just okay. I dabble in several CCGs, and theme is usually the deciding factor unless the game *really* grabs me. I love Lovecraft, but I'm only so-so about games in that setting.

Our 2-player gaming has been dominated by Through the Ages; if I were to invest in a new LCG, it would be Warlord 4th edition.

But if my sole vote will make the difference...

I didn't realize it was up. The obvious choice is CoC LCG. The game play is straightforward and thematic -- not as good as MtG (but what is), but a solid CCG at any rate.

I tried a three-way once and it splits the votes out too much for the end result to be worthwhile. Particularly with less-played games like these where there's so few voters. I'll probably put the winner here against WI in a later Trashdome. Then again if this ends with only a few votes I wouldn't expect to see any LCG's in the dome again.

Well... I've never played CoC.

But in the spirit of trashdome, I'll VOTE: AGOT. I liked what I've played from just the LCG core set - tricky combat, nice theme, multiplayer-ness.

Haven't played either one, but if I was to just go on theme: COC.

On a side note, my wife and I are digging on Warhammer Invasion pretty hard. We've found it's pretty easy to pass a baby back and forth between turns or just play one handed.

This Trashdome never happened.

Just seems to have that extra level going on, especially with the muliplayer rules.

AGoT just never grabbed me enough to get more than the base set when it switched to the LCG format.
