Recent Topics paging, uploading images and preview bugs require a patch which has not yet been released.

× WELCOME TO TRASHDOME!

This is part of a series of bloody matches to the death. Show support for your favorite game so it will do better in the fight. You can support it by writing why you think its the better game and more importantly by betting (i.e. voting for) it. Please make it clear for when I check the bets later. You have until Friday when I tally the bets and declare the winner. I will reserve my bet for any tie-breakers.

Although you should be familiar with both games, there is no rule that says you have to have played both of them. The only rule in Trashdome is this;

Two games enter! One game leaves!

Trashdome - Dominion VS Bohnanza

WELCOME TO TRASHDOME!

This is part of a series of bloody matches to the death. Show support for your favorite game so it will do better in the fight. You can support it by writing why you think its the better game and more importantly by betting on it. End your first post in this thread with the title of the game you're placing a bet on (i.e. voting for) so its clear to me when reading it later. You have until Friday when I tally the bets and declare the winner. Counting expansions or not is entirely up to you just as playing with them or not is. I will reserve my bet for any tie-breakers.

Although you should be familiar with both games, there is no rule that says you have to have played both of them. The only rule in Trashdome is this;

Two games enter! One game leaves!

In case anyone was wondering why I picked these two. Each game, intentionally or not, emulates a different meta-CCG aspect; trading cards and deck building. One is also a "German Game" and the other is a modern Euro.

Bohnanza by county mile. Everything else is just fancy solitaire.

Bohnanza. The heart of the game is interaction.

Dominion

I've not even played Bohnanza, but I like Dominion enough to say that I doubt I'd like Bohnanza better.

I really like the idea of deckbuilding as a game mechanic. Puzzle Strike is my most eagerly anticipated game in some time.

Ugh. Two of my very least favorites. But at least with Bohnanza I've got a shot at interaction.

Vote: Bohnanza

One of the trashiest Euros ever; every game I've played has involved yelling and shouting and cursing. Dominion's deckbuilding is a germ of a great idea but by itself isn't enough to really sustain my interest. (Puzzle Strike is great, though.)

Have to agree. Who in their right minds would vote for Dominion rather than Bohnanza?
(Psst, Michael, Dominion's just like A Touch Of Evil . . . trust me.)

Bohnanza is an all time favorite. That game rules.

Dominion is, as mentioned, a cool mechanical idea wrapped in a boring game.

Vote: Bohnanza buries Dominion under a field of stink beans.

I can't believe anyone would get excited over a game of Bohnanza. It's a really boring game.

Dominion is interesting and fun. So what if the interaction is understated?

Vote: Dominion

VOTE: Bohnanza, for sure.

There's actual interaction, begging, trading, etc....and opportunity for creative backstabbing.

This is like King Kong Bundy vs. Little Beaver.

Bohnanza takes down Dominion in less than a second, and gets the five-count.

I remember 6 years ago when my 6-year-old niece asked me to play "The Bean Game." Her and my brother taught me and it's been a family classic in my own house ever since.

Vote: Bohnanza
