Boardgame remix kit

This is a really neat idea:

However, I'm not betting that any of the "variants" it offers are actually much - if at all - better than the originals.

Re-using components is pretty much a disaster waiting to happen. It becomes too restrictive, and doesn't allow for theme to shine through. Look at the maligned Stonehenge game for example, and that had an impeccable design team.

Wait, wasn't this basically the Cheapass Games strategy?
