That works.

Checked with my boy who has been running a distro for over a decade and he came back with Valerie Collective and Italians Do It Better as major loci.

You may want to look into Ladytron if you haven't already. They're more polished and produced than Kavinsky, but they've got a similar, sleek pan-European sound. The female parts in that Kavinsky track sound a lot like Ladytron.

Also, definitely listen to Chromatics and Glass Candy. Similar cool, sleek electro with influences ranging from Giorgio Mordorer to Goblin. I know exactly the kind of sound you're looking for, and those bands have it. It's that "driving a Ferrari in the outskirts of a major city at 2am in 1983" sound, isn't it?

Wearing a pastel shoulder suit and bringing down the Colombian cartel?

I remember Light & Magic being pretty killer, but they kinda fell off my radar. Will bring myself back up to speed.

Yeah, that is a good way to describe it. Apparently the dude from Glass Candy does ItDIB, kinda like how Coil had Threshold House I guess.

Have you heard of the Klaxons yet? Maybe that's something for you?
