When Violent J sang "I've seen things that would shock ya eyelids" in Miracles, he was probably meaning to talk more about stuff like this rather than how a pelican ate his cell phone.
I dunno if there's a video here that tells you about effing magnets, and how they work, but I hope there is.

Fucking blankets, how do they work?
ICP is shockingly bad, but after I learned about their Miracles vid I was prompted to go see if their "mysticism" and anti-science were just a put on, or if they really were militantly ignorant.
Somewhat to my surprise, it turns out to be the latter. They were presented by one otherwise sympathetic interviewer with a copy of "How things Work" so they could read up on the whole electromagnetism thing those motherfucking scientists were talking about. But, no, they weren't interested, and declined the book.
I promptly realized the value of that book for our young kids, checked it out online, and snapped up a copy of it and "How We Work" by the same author/publisher. They are now our coffee table books and conversation starters.
Thanks, ICP!
As for Khan Academy, I think it's pretty awesome. If I plunge back into math classes, I'll bone up with his vids first.

Quickly checked the video on Parallax in Observing Stars and the explanation is pretty piss poor, mainly because of the god awful interface he is using but also because his explanation doesn't really make much sense.
I was interested in what he has to say as I'm teaching this topic in about 3 hrs time.

I like it; he's definitely better when working in his areas of expertise (math, banking, finance) but mostly good regardless. His tone is nice and conversational and breaking everything into 10-minute chunks is great.
