I put out some food for the birds and squirrels. Some of the squirrels on my block are solid white, and at least one is solid black. I call them ghost squirrels and ninja squirrels.

I'd never seen a white squirrel before, and then a couple of years ago I see two in different cities within the span of a month. There are no black squirrels in Montréal for some reason, they probably never crossed the river?
