Fantastic, really great film....

Fantastic, really great film. I was lucky enough to see it on IMAX and it enhanced the experience quite a bit. I was surprised that I actually was moved by one of the kiss scenes, I must really be starting to care about these characters, I can't believe it. I think the ending was too abrupt (like The Two Towers) but that's hard to avoid in the middle of a trilogy. Somehow Empire Strikes Back handled it right, but here I really wish I had the next installment ready to watch immediately. You want to leave your audience wanting more, I get it, but they should also feel satisfied. Oh well. I am going to dock this movie by an increment for having flogging in it. This may sound stupid but I don't think it belongs in science fiction movies. After watching 12 Years a Slave only a few weeks back, it certainly does feel like science fiction to watch Miley Cyrus' ex-fiancee get whipped. Does not feel real at all. Other than that, I love the leads and the new faces as well (Jena Malone as Johanna was a stand out for me, hard to put other powerful female characters in scenes with Katniss after all). Honestly, this series has been brilliantly cast from head to toe. This sequel surpasses the first installment, not as easy feat to pull off. I have a feeling this movie is actually better than the book. I can't imagine the book being better but what do I know?
