This is the second day of our “vacation” on this wretched planet. I call it that because some of our passengers seem to take it as such! Those two worthless drecks, Holm and Tulley, were given a simple task: bring back more hands to assist in getting my ship off the ground. What do they accomplish? Nothing! They have returned, empty-handed, and the illustrious Captain Holm is currently being ministered to by Tech-Hospitalier Reymalden for an injury to his left arm during an attempt to liberate some human slaves from the greenskins. How heroic.
Fortunately, Reymalden actually has proven his worth. He has obtained some rare xenotech that he calls a “Lyth”. I overheard him speaking with Youvesti about them. I nearly fell asleep in the side corridor with boredom over their overly technical conversation, but I did garner from it that the stones are able to disrupt the Daemon’s hold on the Spiral. With all the setbacks I have encountered on this damnable voyage, this is at least a good piece of news. With any luck, I might be able to profit from the Eldar relics in more ways than one!
The only thing that concerns me is Youvesti. It seems that he has acquired a “pet” from this world. It never leaves his side, much less his shoulder. The men have grumbled to me about it, but I am disinclined to do anything about it. The beastly thing brings some form of comfort to the old man and I have noticed an uptick in the quality of his maintenance work. If it brings that much effort out of him, then who am I to rob him of it?
