I couldn't name a game that released at Essen this year. In years past I would look at lists of stuff coming out and get hyped, but my interest in new release games these days is practically nil. I'm sure there's good stuff that will float to the top in the next year or so.
Uba,
Is that under the Awaken realms lite banner?
Edit: It is. I reached out to them when they requested reviewers and recieved a positive response.

Like others, I didn't even pay attention. I used to try and follow along but there's way too much now and so much of it that I don't care about that it's not worth churning through to find gems. Stuff will rise to the top and, if not, oh well.
I already have a list of games I want to buy and, as much as I would like to be wrong, it's unlikely any game released at Essen will join them. I'm trying to get 1825, Dune, Roads & Boats, Vampire: The Eternal Struggle and other games of that caliber so yeah, if something interesting hits I'll hear about it eventually.

Considering the revealed monster looks like a sentient can of capital M Monster, I can't wait to see what other cross promotions iello landed.
In all seriousness, that actually looks like a different game? There's a track, there's weird cards, etc. Maybe it's the King of Tokyo 2 that KonY wasn't.
I have no idea what kind of presence it had at Essen, but Sanctum has been on my radar all year. It’s the new game from the designer of Adrenaline (which I *love* and needs to hit the table very soon). Where Adrenaline was going after FPS deathmatches, Sanctum is going after Diablo.
Sanctum looks so odd. It's a dungeon crawl that's not really cooperative, much of it is abstracted - but it still has hundreds of bits and takes up a ton of space - and it has 0 player interaction.
It almost looks like the designer cobbled something together in an effort to make the worst dungeon crawl ever made.
Sanctum got some moderately good buzz at Essen from what I saw. It sounded fun - a race to level up and fight the big boss - but the art didn't really appeal to me, so I didn't look at it too closely.
Yeah, I couldn't care less about it as a dungeon crawl. Glad it isn't coop. Building my character has always been the most fun part about Diablo, so I was okay with the direction it was taking.
