1. Combat Commander
2. Twilight Struggle
3. War of the Ring
4. Cities and Knights of Catan*
5. Memoir 44

I'll be wimpy and go for "almosts"
6. Nexus Ops
7. Ticket to Ride
8. Pit (really old, but a fun one)
9. Here I Stand
10.Heroscape

Of course, this means I also get the base game included.

My five:

1. Mutant Chronicles: Siege of the Citadel. What? I'm currently pimping this bad boy out and you expect me to put it to pasture? Also, included with this is the Brotherhood expansion.

2. Runebound and all the expansions I have currently.

3. Vampire: Prince of the City - I've been playing it a lot and I can't seem to stop playing it for some reason.

4. Fury of the Clansmen - See SOTC entry above.

5. When Darkness Comes and all the expansions.

Almost, but not quite:

WH40k: I can get the same hit by playing Dawn of War. Which, by the way, anyone up for a Dawn of War matchup?

Dark Cults: I like the card game. It's on my top 10, but I feel it may slowly be inched off the list soon.

Dune: I love the game as much as anyone, but it hasn't his the table in years.

Block Mania: Love this game too, for nostalgic purposes, but hasn't hit the table in a while.

Minion Hunter: I get the "fight the good fight against the supernatural scary shit" from WDC, and it has more expansions.

but from what we typically consider "these games of ours":

Listen, if you want to talk about "those games of yours" you're going to have to go elsewhere. Skelly's not around to enforce the rules, but that kind of talk in the past would have gotten you written up. Don't do it again or you're going to have to pick THREE games.

Keepers:
1. Arkham Horror (what Shellhead said)
2. Battlestar Galatica (I can play it over and over and I'm starting to Pimp out my set)
3. A Deck of cards and a cocktail waitress
4. Buffy the Vampire Slayer
5. Battleball

Games I'd be ok getting rid of
1. Ti3 (I'll just play Malloc's copy)
2. Age of Steam (Actually, I don't even own AoS or Steam but I play everyone else copy enough time)
3. Railroad Tycoon (similar enough to AoS)
4. Caylus (I haven't played in 9 month)

Okay, here are my five. Solo friendly and a little variety is what wins the day for me.

The first three are definite.

1. Runebound. Got all the expansions except for the class decks and the Pretty Princess one. Tons of variety and replayability.

2. Arkham Horror. It burns a little to put two adventure games up here, but how can I not include this? Also have all the expansions.

3. Second Season. Awesome football game. Makes you feel like you're watching the game. Every player on every team who got playing time is rated in a season. Lots of available seasons. Years of fun.

The next two I'm waffling on.

4. Hornet Leader 2. Gotta have air combat. Lots of replayability with the expansions (have all three). I could easily pull this out every six months or so and work through the campaigns. Part of me wants to replace this with Wings Over France. And I might.

5. Source of the Nile. Great exploration game. Different enough from other games that it's a totally unique experience. Part of me wants to replace this with American Megafauna. Probably not, but I hate to lose it.

I still haven't got to my copy of Fields of Fire yet. I suspect that if I had, that would be on this list. Christ knows what I'd lose.

Bitch all you want, losers, I think seeing peoples' almost-made-its is interesting. So, besides Wings Over France and American Megafauna, I'd cry about losing Melee/Wizard. I'd be unhappy to lose Doom and Descent. And I'd totally play Silverton with you, Southern.

Hmmm.

Arkham Horror + expansions
Colonial Diplomacy
Deck of Cards + Hoyle Book (I'm a big fat cheater!)
Warrior Knights + expansion
Scrabble

But that is just off the cuff. I bet I forgot something good from my shelf!

COLONIAL DIPLOMACY?! Wow. You should definitely check out AFRICA 1880.

A deck of cards and a SCRABBLE set, that's thinking ahead. Those would outlast just about any game anybody has listed.

WIN PLACE AND SHOW...that's another good pick. It's got the right mix of accessibility and depth. Plus, you can always add new stables and so on to extend its value.

With all these games I routinely find myself wanting to get ready for another play when I finish.

1. Here I Stand (Best History/Warfare/Diplomacy game period)
2. Arkham Horror (Infinite Variety)
3. Rook (Sentimental family reasons)
4. Race for the Galaxy (Go ahead, put out the F:ATwa)
5. Settlers of Catan (Do I need a reason?)

Fuck only 5 games?! Ok the top 5 I must keep would be:

ASL: If this was the only wargame I was allowed, I could live with that. Infinitely replayable, loads of fun and you can damn near game any WW2 tactical situation. Oh yeah and it's the kind of game where its depth rewards those who study and put some effort into the game. I dig that.

Civilization: Still the best game of all time. Many imitators have come along which try to do Civ better, faster, or more elegantly. All of them fail, because after playing them I think to myself, "I'd rather just play Civ".

Here I Stand: The ultimate CDG. Six asymmetric player powers, each with their own agendas and toolboxes. Negotiation, warfare, exploration and people can get burned at the stake!

Magic Realm: Thirty years later and the game has yet to be surpassed. You can near do anything you want in MR. Kill monsters, kill NPCs, hire NPCs, find treasure, team up with other players, fly solo or even kill other players. It's all in there in a brilliant design. Just watch out for the fucking bats.

Space Hulk 1st ed: This game is just pure awesome. The combination of a tactical puzzle plus the timer created one of my favorite games of all time. This game will more than scratch my 40k itch and I won't have to worry about shitty new editions making whole armies obsolete overnight.

Other games I would really miss or hope someone else on the island owned a copy:

Descent, War of the Ring, Samurai Swords/Shogun, Dinosaurs of the Lost World, Titan.

From my collection (not necessarily my Favorite Games Ever), I would keep:
- 2 wargames: ASL and 5th Fleet.
- 2 Euros: Power Grid and Notre Dame
- 1 abstract: Chess

If I owned Civilization it would be right there at the top.
