Keep posting about your game experience with this, it’s fun reading when someone falls down a rabbit hole like this for a new gaming experience

Our power grows slowly, in fits and starts.

I was all prepped with the dream team of stone cold eldritch horrors, sneakers, and murderers and we went into some chateau, got past the first obstacle confidentially... then got stuck at a hidden door. Since I had no one and had brought no one with skills to open doors or light the way, we just stood in front of the door for minutes while I fed money into the expedition and never found anything.

Came home empty handed.

OMFG, I am so mad. I died to a super simple dumb thing in the epic game I've been screenshoting and talking about all week. FUCK.

The good news is you take your knowledge of the mechanics with you, so moving on to the next game should reduce time to get to where I was quite a bit.

Tips for this game without giving any specific spoilerific advice---if you get stuck, do one of two things: first, try some of your cards in tasks you've never thought of them for. You'll be shocked what you find. I found a relatively basic action I should have known almost form the beginning that I had not even considered by combining one of my cards with an action. In addition, if you're really stuck, especially later in the game, you have to read your cards. The cards and tasks have important clues on them on what to do next. A couple of these have gone over my head and I had to look them up online (online two, so far) but in retrospect I could have figured them out by searching the text of cards.

I think I'm close to a win in one of my games. I need to figure out how to do some things first, though, and get some powerful items.

Finally got a win with one of my cultist runs. I think I understand almost all of the systems... only needed to look online maybe 2-3 times to figure something out.

You guys all really need to play this... it does everything that FFG wants to do in Mythos games like Mansions of Madness and Arkham LCG but can't due to the limitations of the medium.
