No relation whatsoever. The original Ogre Battle was awesome for its time and platform (SNES), and this appears to be a remake for the Wii.

It had better have Queen music if it is named after two queen songs...

What? What's this? A new Ogre Battle coming to WiiWare? Or are you talking about the Virtual Console SNES Ogre Battle?

He's got to be talking about the SNES VC game.

It's good, most of the OGRE BATTLE titles are.

For about ten minutes, I was thinking about putting my Wii up for sale here- it's not even hooked up thanks to the 360. But then I started listing the VC titles I have on it and got as far as:

SUPER MARIO 64
SUPER MARIO WORLD
SUPER METROID
LINK TO THE PAST

And then I realized that I really ought not sell it!

:) I guess...I don't know. I had an Atari 800 computer (Zork and other Infocom games--man, I loved them) and the Atari 2600 (and played Oddysey 2)...then off to college and didn't play on a console system til my son got a Gamecube in 2000. I'm pretty out of it on the older Nintendo stuff...it passed me by

I saw it listed as a strategy game for the Wii on BGG...thus thought it might be something worthwhile paying 8 bucks for to download...but on gamespot there wasn't a review--or on any other sites that I quickly looked for.

It's a straight port of the SNES version of Ogre Battle, which was also ported over to the PSX (how I originally played it.)

It's an excellent real time "grand" tactical/strategy game.

Every game in the Ogre Battle/Tactics Ogre series is worth owning.

I hope at some point they release Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together on Virtual Console. I also hope the PSX versions are put up for download in the PSN store.

Yo Mike, I'm really happy for you. Imma let you finish, but ...

OGRE BATTLE is one of the best video games of all times.

So I take it that the game holds up well over time and that it isn't just nostalgic memories that push this game as one of the best of all time. (Hey, I still love Zork and I think it holds up)

I recently replayed a bit of Ogre Battle via emulation and I'd have to say yes, it does hold up.

Of course that doesn't mean you'll like it.

It's a shame there are no demos for WiiWare or Virtual Console.

PSN also has rather spotty demo support.

Although I suppose demo support for XBLA titles is mandatory, and MS can afford to host all that data since XBL is a paid for service.
