At least it's better than hanging someone out a 2nd story window by their ankles after a rules argument.
I played a lot of Car Wars way back when. Fun times, back when life was cheap and there wasn't such a thing as the internet. One time my brother and I were putting cars together for a two-lane highway fight, both cars starting off driving in the same direction. So we design our cars and roll for position. I win and stick him in front. Then he reveals his car - all the armor is in the back and the only weapon is the biggest laser in the game in a fixed mount pointing out the back. And that was that. From then on fights were always in arenas.

Oh man, hard disagree. But I'm not a miniatures person at all. So I find playing with just junk lying around totally charming and totally in line with a kind of DIY, who cares kind of attitude.
