Eurodome - Tigris & Euphrates VS Reef Encounter

WELCOME TO EURODOME!

This is part of a series of sophisticated competitions for the favor of MAN-TINA, the EURODOME QUEEN. Show support for your favorite game so it will score more VPs. EURODOME uses an auction mechanic. You have been supplied with exactly one EURODOME FLORIN that you will use to pay for your bid. Please bid clearly for your preferred game. I will eventually get around to tallying the totals and declaring a winner.

Although you should be familiar with both games, there is no rule that says you have to have played both (or either) of them. The only rule in EURODOME is this;

Two games enter! One game politely excuses itself!

Thanks to Stonecutter for suggesting this week's matchup.

VOTE: T&E

Tigris and Euphrates drinks the milkshake of almost every other Euro out there. ESPECIALLY something like FUCKING REEF ENCOUNTER.

Vote: T&E

I find it has wargame elements AND Ameritrashy elements although it is most definately a Euro. My wife loves it (she won the Canadian national tournament in T&E) but ALL my friends HATE IT.

I've only played T&E, and only once, and it was terrible.

Fucking Reef Encounter at least has bright colors. And fucking.

I cannot in good conscience vote for Tigris & Euphrates, as the draw of red tiles raises concerns regarding the luck factor.

Nah just kidding, best Euro evar, and one of my favorite games of all time...evar.

T&E

E&T (sorry, we always played the original version, cannot break from use of the acronym) is still a top 10 game for me. One of the rare Euros where just about every game has a unique fingerprint; I can remember details of specific games I played several years ago.

I played RE once. It was okay.

Bid: Reef Encounter because I owned it, never opened it, successfully traded it in an Arms Trade and has entered the F:AT lexicon.

What an absolutely pathetic and insolent match-up.

Tigris & Euphrates is a thrilling mix of gambling and strategy. It is like an area control game in which the boundaries of each area shift and change with each effort to control them. It is a whirlwind of interaction that pushes you to constantly adapt and improvise. Games have a build up and explosion, and the challenge is to try to time the fuse just right, orchestrate the right mix of catalysts, capitalize maximally on the shards and pieces. Tigris & Euphrates is a game of conquest and usurpation, of building and trapping. Hating Tigris & Euphrates is like hating the spontaneity of life.

VOTE: TIGRIS & EUPHRATES (to the death!)

Has the fucking world gone mad ?!!! ... well the bloody Fortress has - I can't believe people are voting for FUCKING REEF ENCOUNTER over anything, let alone an abstract pseudo wargame like E&T.

I'm just going out to get my neighbour to punch me hard until I wake up, 'cos the pinching obviously ain't working.

Reef Encounter is some of the most boredom I've ever encountered playing board games (winner: Alhambra).

Vote: Tigris & Euphrates.

FRE is as much of an abstract pseudo wargame as T&E.

Would you please accept my polite, yet firm, bid for T&E? Tits & Elbows all the way!

Reef Encounter hasn't entered the lexicon, Fuckin' Reef Encounter has. There's a substantial difference.
