T&E, no contest. A game that holds your interest longer by playing with the pieces instead of the actual gameplay should not win.

Tigris & Euphrates is one of the most bloody games ever invented. Setting up all of those kingdoms and then watching them collide is nothing short of epic.

VOTE: T&E

Eager to see Stonecutter's vote. Even if he votes for E&T, he's still half-pussy for recommending this matchup...

To paraphrase: Has the fucking world gone mad ?!!! ... well the bloody Fortress has - I can't believe people are voting for Tossers & Elegance.
There must have been something slipped into the Fortress water supply.
Vote for Fucking RF and bizzarro coral combat!!

These games aren't that different. Well I guess Fucking Reef Encounter (FRE) is more complicated, but that's a good thing. I'll take shrimp eating and coral bashing any day.
Plus it's got Fucking right in the name.

VOTE: RE

Nope, I'm all Vag this week, gotta vote for Reef Encounter.

Being the Eurodome and all I'll say that both games are excellent and BOTH deserve to win.

But seriously, RE/FRE is great. I don't know how you can love T&E and not at least appreciate RE. I'd honestly argue that the reef theme, while admittedly a bit lame, is at least as thematically appropriate as the theme in T&E, and I think the scoring system in RE is much better. There's a definite screw your neighbor element built into flipping the tiles and locking them down for bonuses. Oh, and it looks great. I'll take navy blue and neons over brown and tan any day.

Can I save my florin for the next round? I feel like spending it here would be suboptimal.

I gotta stop reading these things on my lunch break. I think I'm done with my tuna melt.

My vote --> T&E: The Dice Game

Oh, I'm late, aren't I...

EUPHRAT & TIGRIS is actually a pretty great game. It's a pretty confrontational game, and it actually lets you take things away from people which is very rare in a Eurogame. Theme, bah, whatever. Empire building in antiquity is a pretty dull concept in games at this point anyway. It's not "Civ Lite", we know this by now.

A two player E&T game is brutal played between people who know what they're doing- and quick- 30-45 minutes tops.

And then there's REEF ENCOUNTER. If it were FUCKING REEF ENCOUNTER, I might be swayed to vote for it since I am the sole owner of that game, and apparently always will be until the end of time. I still have yet to try it. It does look pretty interesting, and the theme actually does kind of work. But for this Eurodome- FAILED.

Woops, I mean "It's slightly less successful, not my cup of tea".

Well I better step up here as I won the only known game of Reef Encounter to be played amongst the F:AT types awhile back thru SBW. Plus, not to steal your thunder MB but I also own it, have played it, and would never think to trade it!)

I see the same mistakes being made here that plagued the Kingsburg thread...so many willing to jump boots and all onto the head of a game without even playing it.

Fact is Fucking Reef Encounter is tight, dramatic, mean, and a whole lot of fun once you are across all the things you can do. Most early players have NO idea how to combine actions and plan ahead...which is what makes this game really shine.

I am also a fan of TnE mind you...but since this is Euro Dome I am going to come down on the side of less luck.

Vote: Fucking Reef Encounter!

Where the wounds have salt rubbed into them automatically! ;)
