What future shelf toads are you thinking about?

If player count is an issue then the new Mother of Dragons will make it much more playable for lower numbers - plus someone can have DRAGONS.

This years wish list is pretty short. Villainous will never be a shelf road, as soon as my kids lose interest, I'll gift it to some kids that come to game night. Terraforming Mars is more likely to fall in the toadish dept as I'll probably only get to play it 4 times a year at geek gatherings or at the games meet up. But if I'm going to play victory point salad, it's the one I like best.

I periodically am reminded of P500 orders I made 18 months ago, and all of those are basically guaranteed to be shelf toaddy. The big one right now is People Power, if it ever gets over the hump and starts getting numbers like COIN games usually get.

Living in the Philippines makes that one uniquely appealing. Shoot, I sometimes drive down EDSA, where many of the demonstrations against Marcos took place. But it is truly a theoretical shelf toad, because it's years from getting made right now.

So it may not actually exist for years, and when it does I have no clue who is going to play it with me.

I think this thread talked me out of kickstarting the DUNE reprint.

Lisboa is a perennial future shelf toad. Every time I look at that game I have to wear a bib. And I’m going to pull that trigger because there is a regular Sunday session in my future if I develop the gumption to tell my SO that I’m going to have another game day!

I don't love a lot of efficiency games, but there are several that work for me, and I think Through The Ages might just be one. It's not the only civ game I want in my life, but it sits comfortably in my collection alongside Clash of Cultures and Innovation.

For myself I've arranged to buy a cheap copy of Dungeon Twister Prison imminently, which I think no one will ever play with me. It does have supposedly a good Solo mode though so maybe I'll get it played regardless. I also keep eyeing War of the Ring, but man literally no one will play that ever I know it.
