Bugs: Recent Topics Paging, Uploading Images & Preview (11 Dec 2020)

Recent Topics paging, uploading images and preview bugs require a patch which has not yet been released.

× WELCOME TO TRASHDOME!

This is part of a series of bloody matches to the death. Show support for your favorite game so it will do better in the fight. You can support it by writing why you think its the better game and more importantly by betting (i.e. voting for) it. Please make it clear for when I check the bets later. You have until Friday when I tally the bets and declare the winner. I will reserve my bet for any tie-breakers.

Although you should be familiar with both games, there is no rule that says you have to have played both of them. The only rule in Trashdome is this;

Two games enter! One game leaves!

Trashdome: Heroscape Versus Man O' War

Two Games Enter, One Game Leaves...

BEST AMERITRASH GAME EVER?

Choose carefully, lest a Skaven slice you asunder or Sgt. Matt Drake use his grapple claw on your scrotum.

To help you decide...

MAN O WAR

HEROSCAPE

HEROSCAPE.

1. No Painting.
2. Accessible but not too shallow.
3. No Painting.
4. Samurai Vs. Robots Vs. Skinless Humanoids Vs. Cowboys Vs. Elves Vs......
5. One Word: Major Q9 (yes, that's two)

Man O' War is fun, but it doesn't come with Legos.

Ah Trashdome... the place for shallow decision making. And all votes count the same.

Knowing nought about both I'll decide from looks alone.

Vote: Man O' War.

Vote: Man O' Fucking War.

Sorry, Heroscape has some cool minis and terrain, but the game play sucks.

Never played Man O War, but I did play some WHFB and 40K.

And Heroscape made me realize why I hate that kind of game.

All of the fun, none of the fuss.

Heroscape is (was) expensive to collect, and has fiddly setup. On the other hand, Man O War is an out of print GW game that needs assembly and painting. Without debating the merits of their gameplay, there's only one of these that I would actually play:

Heroscape

He said Heroscape was fiddly, further proof that the word has no meaning whatsoever.

Is this even a contest? Game that's ready to go out of the box versus one I have to construct and paint myself...and have to use a ruler to play? *shudder*

Without a Question: Man o War

I have to say...Painting or assembly is a pretty weak excuse for missing out on the greatest miniatures game ever! If any of you people who use that as an excuse happen to be in the KC area look me up and I'll be more than happy to bust out a game with my assembled but completely naked models (as in bare pewter).

But first prepare yourself for unbalanced fleets, vague or unclear rules, inelegant movement/measuring system, wild swings of dice rolls, character galore and a game with its tongue firmly planted in its cheek. But also prepare for a lot of fun and "did that just happen?" moments.
