F:AT Gunslinger PBEM

That's right. Any uh you yella'-bellied, lily-livered, pantywaist sumbitches wanna' PBEM this thing? It's not a game for the weak, but if you save your breath, I fell that men like you could manage it. And if you don't manage it, you'll die, only slowly. Very slowly, my friends.

Are you gonna be teaching us how to be play or is it an experienced players only kinda thang?

I'd be down but I can't lay my hands on a copy of the game. Does it play well by e-mail?

I'm not all that good at the game, so if you're expecting me to teach you strategy, I'm probably not the best guy to ask, but I can explain the rules if you don't know them.

All I ask is that you read the rules if you have them, and that nobody gets their undies in a bunch if we have to slow things down to help the guys that don't know the game, or because somebody can't do a mailing every day or whatever.

Other than that, I'm pretty loose-y goose-y when it comes to PBEM. If it finishes, great. If it doesn't, oh well.

As for how it plays PBEM, I don't know. I've never done it, but there's not a ton of hidden information or record keeping, so it shouldn't be too bad. But it is PBEM, so it's going to be pretty slow.

EDIT: OK, I looked at the VASSAL mod and the Cyberboard gamebox. I think VASSAL is the way to go. It doesn't look like control of the pieces is locked to any specific player, so I should be able to do any of the record keeping nobody else wants to do. Hopefully, anyone who wants to play will only have to pick and play cards, and declare their actions if that's all they want to operate themselves.

I'd be in. We could play the intro scenario where everyone's just shooting at each other. Gunslinger isn't that complicated. But I assume it's going to be slow. And we'd need somebody to drag the others through by the nose (initiative, ...).

I've got a scan of the rules: here . I guess it would also be nice to have the tables and action cards available during play.

I'm at a disadvantage to you yanks as I had to leave my shotty back in New Zealand, but if you promise to take it easy on me I'll join in and give you some target practice ... before I pepper your arses. (I've never played it either).

I see that there is a PBEM Card Draw utility on the website where I downloaded the Vassal module from, have no idea how useful it will be.

There's also a link to a manual for using the Gunslinger module.

No, it never did, but I'm still interested.

I sure would be interested as well. I have participated in several PBEM Gunslinger games, I even survived one of them! Is there a potential GM for this?
