Coming through to say the same thing. Looks like y'all who wanted a reprinted Heroquest are in luck. Starting at 100 dollars or 150 dollars with the two expansion.

After reading through this thread, it seems like I don't really know if this is for me, since I don't have any nostalgia for the original game, which I've never played. I already have a shit ton of real RPGs that I've never gotten to run or play, and those seem like they would be more rewarding anyway. Still, it's cool that we're getting a more or less faithful reprint of a "cult classic". Really glad it's not an F2P phone game.

It looks like Hasbro has set up their own Kickstarteresque pre-order for this.
https://hasbropulse.com/products/heroquest-game-system

It will go into production if they get a million dollars in pledges by November 6.

I've not seen them do this for other games/toys, have you?

Browsed the site and saw Monopoly: The Mandalorian

Buy hideouts and earn Imperial credits by charging rent

I don't know why I find this hilarious but I do.

Star Wars: Landlords

Yeah, uba, I have not seen this before either. It's an interesting take on subverting kickstarter fees from an industry giant who can set up their own system and doesn't really have to worry about credibility.

I wish it success and the rebirth of 'scape down the road. Heh. I got into AD&D when I was the right age for Heroquest, so we never really played it even though my DM had it. Then his dog peed on it.

I'm guessing there's basically no way this doesn't get funded though. That's just 10k backers.

So now consumers are giving interest free loans to companies that net like 4 Billion dollars annually. Brilliant.

That's a lot of nostalgic fans to capture, that's a lot of cash when you line it up against the competition that has 30 years of design advancement on their side (I played Space Crusade recently and while fun we all thought it was obviously dated). This really needed to arrive 10-15 years ago.

That's a polite way of phrasing it. Looks like a complete clone of the concept.

That episode of The Mandalorian where baby Yoda came second place in a beauty contest was hilarious.

I’ve seen a couple of smaller companies start with KS and then using the goodwill they’ve banked to try their own take on in-house crowd funding, with varying success. It seems unusual for Hasbro but the funding level being a million bucks puts the scale of the business they do into sharp relief.

Damn, this campaign wild. They have gender swapped minis locked as a bonus. $250k so far, almost all the mythic tier. Female orcs! Unlocks apparently, which is wild for a company like Hasbro, though they are pretty mild. A lot of info is missing though, like the rules and estimated fulfillment date. All the renders being digital is odd as well, I'd have expected them to have physical minis to show. It also looks like the expansion packs just add more of the same monster minis and some bosses.

They were so lazy they left the original artwork for the four corner board spaces the same as the original ? Why not show in Imperial Detention Center instead of Jail, or a Stormtrooper instead of a 30s era cop?

I'd expect an OUTER RIM Mandalorian expansion at some point.

I think this is Hasbro testing the crowdfunding waters. Looks like exactly the same game, and it has not held up well. I played it recently and whilst I have huge nostalgia for it, it's really not aged well. Also female characters as backed exclusive is a bit ick.

I guess nostalgia is a big factor but man, how much did this game cost when it came out? $150 is a huge ask for this, especially compared to other games in the same market you could get for that amount.

Also, apparently this is a thing for Canada. Seems not great!
