What BOARD GAMES are you TRADING?

I can't find the old thread. Here's a new one.

So the latest BGG Math Trade I decided to just dump some stuff and made a bunch of bundles. Less work than having an auction or selling individual items, so I don't to hear anything about one-sided trades or what is and isn't a good deal because I'm happy with how it went.

OUT
Small World Realms, Cursed, Grand Dames, Leaders, Necromancer Island
Fool's Fortune
Asgard's Chosen + Exp
Decktet
Hanabi
Red Dragon Inn 1+2
Archipelago + Solo Exp + War & Peace
Die Macher
Fealty
LotR Confrontation
LotR Fellowship Deckbuilding Game
Mall World
Mount Everest
Down in Flames Aces High
Sekigahara
Warparty

IN
Gammarauders + Exp
Condotierre (1st/2nd Ed, not FFG)
Dreadfleet
Chateau Roquefort
Maria

I do love a good math trade. Unfortunately, I've got nothing left to trade that I don't want to keep. It's a good problem to have.

I just traded Archipelago too...I played it recently and realized that it's a total, screaming mess. An interesting mess, and one that I think functions better as a brilliant parody of post-millennial Eurogame bloat...but it's a PITA to play, and my regulars all played it once and never wanted to see it again.

I'm getting Amun-Re and Tower of Babel for it, so I'm pleased with that.

I really like it, but it's one of those games where every game is a learning game because I don't have regulars who play it repeatedly. I also have two buddies now that own it, so out it goes.

I'll concede that having Archipelago is more of a collection thing than a play thing for me. Unlikely I'll ever have a group that wants to play such a complicated euro 4-5 times to just *start* to get the strategy.

Yeah, and when every solo game is a learning game too...

For a committed group of five (and I do think you need a full five), there's probably a lot to like- it's highly interactive, the secret endgame conditions thing is brilliant, the rebellion aspect adds a lot of compelling tension...but it is kind of the same problem as Die Macher- the awesome 5-6 hour Eurogamd that nobody actually wants to play often enough to really dig into it.

And the solo game was really kind of crap...even the easiest ones could be completely impossible to win or you'd lose in the second turn.

Just thinking...here is a list of mechanics from the game:

- tile laying
- action selection
- worker placement
- action cards
- card drafting
- negotiation
- variable markets
- exploration
- civilization development
- special buildings
- majorities
- resource management
- cooperative challenges
- secret goals

Like, everything but dice, PU&D and deckbuilding.

You're right with the comparison. I have Die Macher and have only played it 3-4 times... and haven't gotten a game in years. But I'm going to keep that one too, sentimental favorite with an awesome theme.

Yep, Die Macher is a keeper for me for most of the same reasons. I traded an extra copy that I got for being overzealous in my auction bidding

Well, I had listed Thunder Alley just to see if it would lure an OOP classic. Wasn't really seeking a trade with it...

Boom. Um Reifenbreite and..........Tonga Bonga!

ACCEPTED!

Um Reifensomething has been on my "want" list for a while. I really dig Thunder Alley but I'm really interested in how they compare.

I hope you LOVE auction after auction...

Edit: Bull is right, it was endless bidding, not auctions per se.

I think I'll be fine! Sounds like some cool stuff going on around the auctions.

Yeah, I'm psyched about UM Reifenbreite, seems appropriate to trade it for TA...I've read the rules a few times over the years, it sounds REALLY good. Old style family game, really.

Tonga Bonga...I have no idea why, but I want that game more than anything else right now. I forget that Stefan Dorra has done some awesome simple games...like Intrige...
