Somebody can take my place. I don't want to be a hog as I have played before.

Wow, more interest than I thought. Who'd have thought grave-digging would be so productive?

I guess this is mostly in the moderator's court then. If Southernman and Taxis both defer (as they said they would be willing to do), we could do a game with myself, Tevin, Grudunza, Mr. Bistro, and Skeletor.

Dig it.

Go for it lads .... I want to see Frank lose it when the last Cylon reveals and screws him over.

Why don't we just play with 7?

The seven-player game requires the Pegasus expansion. The consensus seemed to be that it would be preferable to play without Pegasus.

I like Pegasus fine, so I wouldn't have a problem with it, but it would probably limit our player choices.

Sag would need a copy of Pegasus to be able to moderate, plus it would be extra work for him. I'm fine to watch and fine to play 7-player.

Why do you need Pegasis for 7 player?
Just have 4 humans, 3 cylons.
And character selection should be random because that is the Ameritrash way!

I've played an 8-player game once only with the base game. It worked well except that there's a lot of downtime, which shouldn't be a problem in PBEM unless someone drops out.

@Skeletor - The Pegasus rules provide for four humans, two cylons, and one hostile cylon leader. I've only done it once, but it worked well (if a bit on the difficult side for the humans.)

At the risk of sounding like an uptight jerk, I have never been much of a fan of house-ruling to fit more people. If people want to do that, I'd probably sit it out. On PBF, that'd be a lot of people to wait on, for moves etc. At least, that's my own thought.

I was going to suggest that myself but thought it could be a bit of a bloodbath.
We always do random selections in our games (we expect the humans to be able to tough it out, one game had no one getting Engineering cards) with the four piles face down so you are getting a random character from a random 'career', but still observing the 'one of each' rule for the three main career types.
And if someone wants they could always play a Cylon Leader instead of a 3rd cylon, then you could just choose what parts of Pegasus you want to use.

The first PBF BSG game here was 6-player and you didn't really notice the downtime as most turns are quite short plus most involve skill checks which you get to participate (and mouth of) in ... in fact there was probably more trash-talkin posts in our game than actual game posts.

Holy crap I volunteered to moderate! I gotta lay off the scotch during the business day.

I can moderate, but I don't have Pegasus and have never played it. If that's a showstopper you may need to find another chump. Otherwise I can do the job. God knows my copy doesn't get any real-life play.

I can live without Pegasus for this game. No deal-breaker here.

After sleeping on it, I think I'd be willing to jump into a 7-player game. It still wouldn't be my first choice, but I don't think it'd chase me off.

I can't see 7 players changing things too much. And I like the idea of random characters!

Whoops - have we shanghai'd Sag ... sorry if I misinterpreted your post, and definitely put yourself down as a player if you want to play, I'm just a placeholder if not enough new players (as opposed to us who were in the first game) want to try it.
