It's fun. It's not the best, but it's fun. I ended up dumping a copy I had in the skip, keeping the bits for prototyping.

This is THE best day ever.

OUT: Shadows of Margath, Walkers in the Wild (Runebound Expansions) and Urbanization. IN: THUNDER ROAD. Pristine, no less.

This is why I pray. They get answered, sometimes.

Finally caved in an bought X-Wing. My six-year old chipped in and I'm hoping that we can have fun playing it together - even without spending a ton of money. We tried Wings of War (Famous Aces, just cards) and she seemed to grasp it. But the minis and card board tokens look to be easier to use so I have high hopes that I can satisfy my need for Star Wars games with her.

However, the box had only been open for about three minutes before her brother (aged 3) managed to snap one of the plastic pegs off one of the ties. Well, I guess I needed to buy some glue anyways ...

I was at Target, and they had a bunch of Loopin' Chewie. It looked pretty stupid. I've never played Loopin' Louie. But I make stupid decisions all the time and bought it anyway. The thing about stupid decisions is often I make one and it sets me on a path that I know is awful, but instead of changing directions I just keep the stupid decision snowball rolling straight ahead. So I had a couple beers and put all the stickers on Loopin' Chewie. Then we played it.

And it was stupid. And I had a complete blast, and I really want to know how something like this wasn't a part of my childhood. First thing in the morning I'm going to figure out how to do some kind of tournament bracket for a 3-player game. Because all great games of skill require tournament brackets.

Snowball.

Put in a pre-order order with CSI, which was also a Portalpalooza. Coming to me in the fullness of time will be Tides of Time, Imperial Settlers - Atlanteans, Rattle Battle, and the Mississippi army for Neuroshima Hex. Only reason the Theseus Hunters faction isn't there is because it's due in November rather than October for the others. In non-Portal buys I ordered Codenames and the third expansion map for Steam.

Then a friend of mine did a CSI order and I threw in for the Afterlife stand-alone expansion for Valley of the Kings and Medina, which I've been wanting for some time.

If i met a guy named Gordon Mckenzie, I would put money down on the skidmarks in his underwear being shaped like a maple leaf. Totally safe bet.

In Quebec....Jean-Marc, Jean-Pierre, Jean-Claude, Jean-Paul, etc for guys, Marie-Claude, Marie-Claire, etc for the ladies.

Bought Blood Royale for $30 in an auction. The box is a little dent, but the game itself looks brand new, unplayed.

She's a beauty... and the one that always got away.

Let me know when you need a player.

I just headed up my first math trade here in DFW, and I feel like it was pretty successful, both as an event and for me in particular.

Out:
Mage Wars
Titan
Hammer of the Scots
Wyatt Earp
Skull

In:
D&D Heroscape Master Set
Pirate's Cove
Le Havre (don't laugh, I like it)
Mascarade + expansion
Star Wars: Empire vs. Rebels

With your Warrior Knights' experience, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this other Derek Carver design.
