Game Information
A fantasy dungeon crawl game using modular boards and scenarios, the game system is an updated version of Doom: The Boardgame. One player acts as the dungeon master while the others take on the roles of adventurers cooperatively exploring a fantasy dungeon. The game is set in Fantasy Flight Games' Terrinoth universe (the same as used for Runebound). 20 plastic miniature heroes and 60 plastic miniature monsters.

PERFECT for what it purports to be
This is D&D lite folks. Right here. Roll a char, equip them and kill bad guys. That the Overlord actually gets to play a game instead of facilitate an experience makes it even better. A total blast.

Dull Hack'n'Slash
Like the Doom boardgame, Descent is a thematic but repetitive dicefest that offers minimal tactical decisions. I have played just once. Descent was fun for about the first hour, with lots of combat and those neat dice. By the third hour, I was bored with the sameness of it all....
