I have talked myself out of buying this about five times. I owned *everything* from the original, but only played it about twice. I used the time honored rationalizations and methods of a recovering addict:
- Once we learn how to play it, it will be a blast
- I'll just read this highly-rated review, which says it is amazing
- It's on sale!
- Oh look, it's less fiddly than the original!
- It will be like a portable version of Heroscape that we can play on vacations!
Here's the review that I injected to push me over the edge (via BGG)

UPDATE: At the Duel of Ages website they're saying that the Coolstuff site has the last remaining inventory, except for the $200 super bundles.

Just thought I'd mention that JoAnn Fabrics has a coupon good through today (Saturday) here -- www.joann.com/coupon/ that gives you 60% off one of the carriers displayed above. Here's hoping for a choice of colors. The web site shows it at $49, so that would likely make it less than $20 at your local store. (There's an online code as well for those who want to pick it up online.) I use my case for Wings of Glory gear and it is very full at this point, so I'm going to consider making a run out tomorrow for a second one, as that's the price of just one piece of Battle Foam.

If he or anyone in his house has ever bought anything there, they can wallpaper the house with JoAnn Fabrics coupons. Twice a week.

Quilters have bigger storage needs than gamers do.

Don't be hating. JoAnn is just a Michael's that carries fabric. Maybe it's my miniature wargaming background, but I go to JoAnn all the time for craft stuff. Also, I do the occasional sewing project. Just download their app and check the coupon section for any active coupons (such as Sag's 60% off one that I actually used for something the other day). I don't even bother with flyers.

You clearly don't know any quilters.

This might be the single most useful piece of information I've ever learned from this Fraking site. I thought Michael's and JoAnn's were all the same. Because last month, I went into a Michael's to find a storage solution for my X-Wing stuff and I really disappointed with the crappy selection. I ended up with something I could have bought a Walmart. I'll have to check out a JoAnn Fabric and maybe down load a coupon while I'm at it.

I wouldn't want to take this stuff on a fishing trip or if I was a professional mechanic, but I've bought some of their stuff for one use/light duty.

It's a mix of the DC and LOTR deckbuilding games, more or less. It has the static hero powers of the DC game, and the ambushes and thematic touches of the LOTR series.
Edit: Hobbit is now $11.99 on Amazon. The LOTR deckbuilders are also on sale, each priced between $12.99-$14.99. (These usually go for $28 online.)
