Hah!

The answer to your problems is called road salt... will save millions of lives in the Southern U.S. this week.

I deal with that kind of weather 5 months out of the year... have fun driving. Remember to turn INTO the skid.

I was told to not come in tomorrow. Friggin' SWEET.

I've got the day off, the wife has the day off, we've got a friend staying the night, the downstairs gaming neighbors off tomorrow as well, and a full day of gaming planned. Only thing we've decided so far is Arkham Horror.

We only got a few inches of snow today, all told, but everything on the roads quickly took the form of greasy gray stuff that's a little too cold to be slush.

Somehow, right in front of my place, on a semi-major road (snow emergency route for you Minnesotans), drunken idiot snowplow drivers have created a clusterfuck. They came through with a dump truck bearing sand and a front-mounted plowblade, plus some big, scrawny construction thingie that I believe is called a "grader." Anyway, they decided to move some perfectly plowed snowpiles from the shoulder of the road out into the middle of Como Avenue, creating a 4 foot tall median of snow pile. Then they brought in a little Bobcat ten minutes ago, to take some dainty bites out of the new median, while the grader scares traffic by moving the opposite direction of traffic, pushing even more snow off the shoulder and into the middle. As things stand right now, even an SUV would have trouble making a left turn off Como onto a side street.

The folly has been going for an hour now, and the snow median is now four feet wide and three feet tall. If they had just performed normal plow maneuvers to push the snow off the road and onto the side of the road, they could have plowed this stretch several times and already moved on to some other area. The scary part is that the ongoing stupidity is forcing two different directions of traffic to share one side of the road. Fortunately traffic has been light, so there haven't been any head-ons yet, just a couple of close calls.

It is common lore that if overtime pay is needed, bring out the grader.

Just got up and took a look outside. We are positively BURIED. I'm guessing at least 2 feet so far, if not more.

There is so much snow piled on our bushes that I can't see out of the down stairs windows.

Big bummer was that I was expecting to sleep in a bit this morning, but instead, starting at 5 am, got robo called by the Spawn's school, the Man's school and my work to tell us they were closed. And then my Dad called too. So now I'm feeling pretty trashed from the repeated sleep interuptions.

Yes, sir. It's pretty crazy. Definitely one of the most significant snow storms I've seen here, and I've live here my whole life.

Nobody has tried to open the door yet. Whenever they do, there's going to be a whole lot of snow getting inside.

I really loved our two snowpocalypses in VA last year and it friggin seems like this storm PURPOSEFULLY avoided VA, DC, MD to hit every other state. What the hell snow? What have we done that you have forsaken us?

Just wanted a few snowed in days to play games and see the wee one toddle around.

Maybe in Feb...

Unfortunately can't do that until I get our daily updates up on the company's internal website. The Bobs would not be happy if I Irished up those.
