Bugs: Recent Topics Paging, Uploading Images & Preview (11 Dec 2020)

Recent Topics paging, uploading images and preview bugs require a patch which has not yet been released.

× WELCOME TO TRASHDOME!

This is part of a series of bloody matches to the death. Show support for your favorite game so it will do better in the fight. You can support it by writing why you think its the better game and more importantly by betting (i.e. voting for) it. Please make it clear for when I check the bets later. You have until Friday when I tally the bets and declare the winner. I will reserve my bet for any tie-breakers.

Although you should be familiar with both games, there is no rule that says you have to have played both of them. The only rule in Trashdome is this;

Two games enter! One game leaves!

Trashdome - DungeonQuest VS Descent: JitD

As long as wer'e talking about modern spiritual successors of DungeonQuest, I think THE ADVENTURERS is worth checking out.

You get a pulpy 40's era treasure hunter, and you have to get in the dungeon and out alive with as much treasure as possible. Each trap has some specific and easy to remember special rules, and it's possible for everybody to die trying to get out. Instead of getting eaten by a grue when the sun sets, you can get trapped inside the dungeon if you don't get out before the huge rolling boulder plugs up the only exit. (you can't go out the way you came because the first room is the "Death Star trash compactor" style trap that completely seals off once it closes). The game is quick, easy to learn, tons of fun, has great bits and artwork, and has more player interaction than DungeonQuest did.

I love both games -- but I have to vote for Descent. The Road to Legend expansion just puts it over the top in terms of how much my group was interested.

Descent hands down. Sure Dungeonquest is fun due to it's very harsh on the players but it's swedish (the most pussy nation in the world) therefore it loses.

Won't fault you on that one. Here's the country who gives its Game of the Year award to the same fucking game as they did 6 years ago, without even noticing. Yay, we're the jury who votes for board games and we don't even know a game from another if it hits us in the head.

Mad Dog had an internet connection problem. I'd ask for a volunteer to do the tally, but I don't trust any of you.

That's never Mad Dog. Mad Dog would have scored things so Dungeonquest won!

Totally appropriate that Dungeonquest died horribly! I consider that a win.

I imagine that this trashdome went on for so long that the sun finally set on DungeonQuest and it was eaten by a grue.

Descent is immune to darkness, as it was designed to be played well into the late hours.
