I got MURAMASA: THE DEMON BLADE for Wii the other day...the first hour I was like, "eh"...I mean the game is outrageously beautiful and has one of the coolest art styles in this generation of games (which is more important to me than polygons and lighting). But it seemed dull. Now I'm totally hooked on it, it's kind of like LEGEND OF KAGE or NINJA SPIRIT with a little Metroidvania in it. The fights are crazy, I did this 100 on 1 fight last night. Combat is really simple, very old-school arcade. It kind of reminds me of the fighting in the Xbox NINJA GAIDEN a little but it's 2D. Pretty awesome game so far, and you get to cook hot pots.

I gotta hunker down this weekend and finish Batman cuz i'm expecting to get Saints Row II and maybe Beatles Rock band next Tuesday. I'm also expecting War of the Ring. Should be an awesome birthday (I hope). I've also asked for Le Havre and NHL10 so we'll see...
I played through Saints Row 2 co-op with a buddy of mine over live. It's our best co-op experience to date. Awesome level of character customization (I made a British version of R. Kelly though shorter and not into pee play), great controls compared to the clunky GTA series, crazy mini-game missions (Escort with two players is hilarious), and great action.

Did you play the developer's previous title, which came out on the PS2, called Odin Sphere?
It's a very strange game. It's also one of those games where you think your gong to play for 15 minutes before you start dinner, and the next thing you know it's two hours later and everyone is all cranky and hungry, so you have to order out for pizza.
ODIN SPHERE is awesome. Did these folks also do GRIM GRIMOIRE? It has the same look and feel.Did you play the developer's previous title, which came out on the PS2, called Odin Sphere?

Yep, Vanillaware .
Those RUNE HARVEST games look fun, but I feel like I'd get burnt out after about six hours or so. There's only so much farming I can take.
I've been playing CASTLEVANIA: PORTRAIT OF
I'm selling off MAGIC cards to fund an XBox360 purchase. Pray for me.

The DS CASTLEVANIA games are _awesome_. All three of them. If you like SotN, then these will do you right. I like DAWN the best overall, I think, although PORTRAIT is great too-- but it has these fucking carnival levels I hate. ORDER OF ECCLESIA is also awesome, but it seemed a little weaker than the other two. All of them have TONS of gameplay, extended modes, alternate stories, etc. These are lifetime games.
I just got SCRIBBLENAUTS and posted about it in the SCRIBBLENAUTS thread. It's pretty much a must have. I have one of those Gamestop chicken hats if anyone wants it.
I'm going back up there to pick up MARIO & LUIGI: BOWSER'S INSIDE STORY later on today.
MURAMASA is really panning out well. I never played the other Vanillaware games, but yeah, it looks like them. Kind of a Disney-ish anime look that's very distinctive. The combat in the game is fun as hell, it's the kind of thing where you try to get those 200+ juggle combos. It has a lot of CASTLEVANIA in it, actually. I do think they sort of screwed up in the pacing and structure of the game, there's too many "running through the woods" screens where nothing happens and there's no items or anything. I almost think it would have been better if the combat were more like CASTLEVANIA rather than "encounter"-based. But still, it's one of the best Wii games, I think. Very old-school, but looks very new school. And the cooking is awesome, it'll make you want to hit up the local sushi spot. I keep making tofu hot pot..."I wish there was some sake!"

As the game progresses, you do less and less farming. You

As the game progresses, you do less and less farming. Youenslavebe-friend monsters, and can have them do the farming for you. So far it is mostly a quest/pick up and deliver game. You can accept tasks from towns people, such as go into the monster infested forrest and bring back a ruby. So you go to the forrest and have to hit rocks with a hammer to find the one with the ruby, while fighting off the monsters. You can also take one of your monster friends with you and have him cover your back while you smash rocks. There's also this friend/courtship bit. If you do lot's of tasks for a girl, she starts loving on you. Then she starts asking for gifts.
There's a Rune Harvest Wii game, too. I've always wanted to check these games out, but never have.

I don't know if I would like it on the Wii. The appeal on the DS is that I have this little world in my pocket. Although I expect that the combat would be more interesting on the Wii. On the DS it's hard to really see what is going on, so it's just button mashing.
If so, just head on over to Microsoft's Xbox customer support site.
You can fill out a repair ticket in around 5 minutes which includes setting up having a coffin mailed to your house to send back to Microsoft.
It's quite an easy process.
Did anyone pick up Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2?
Gamespot gave it a 7.5/10 - not the greatest review, but at least a game in the series finally has online co-op play.
I have a feeling I quickly put this title aside for when ODST comes out next week.
I've been eyeing ultimate alliance 2, I still enjoy the old one...just haven't been able to justify the cost to myself after buying Space hulk
