That's got to be worth tens of dollars. Why not just skip your daily latte for a couple of weeks and buy it yourself?

My knowledge of Star Wars pretty much ends with the movies...So do these capital ships act as carriers for the fighters? I'm thinking no for the Rebels but yes for the Imperials?

That was one aspect that I liked about Battlefleet Gothic where these big ships acted as carriers for their fighters and launched them as controlled ordinance.

Reading through this a bit more I'm really liking the sound of this. Especially how it seems like there's two "speeds" going on - The Cap ships requiring a few turns advanced planning; The Fighters seeming to be able to react, move and shoot without restrictions.

As this really screams at my miniature game roots so I'm really looking forward to see where this goes. But again, I'm taking the wait and see. I'm not going to buy a second set until a few expansions are released.

Von Tush, yes, they usually do. For Imperials especially---regular Tie Fighters don't have a hyperspace drive so they have to travel with cap ships. By contrast, all the rebel fighters are bigger and more expensive and they do have a hyperspace drive.

This should have been a coffin box....

I'm not sure about this one. I'd like to be in, but I've pretty much reached my limit right now for what I can afford. Too many potentially great games competing for a limited pool of dollars.

Glad I didn't go in for X-wing, I would have a hard time justifying this if I had.

If there was ever a candidate to revive the coffin box it is this game.

There's a Jedi joke in there but I can't dig it out.

I'm sure it will come with a coffin box, but a small one to bury your wallet in because this game is going to kill it good.

I think you're looking on the wrong side. Clearly both are Sith operations.

THIS. I would love to have a "galactic sideboard" or something like Mighty Empires where you have a "meta" situation on the sideboard, the capital ships duke it out, but if fighters get within X spaces of one another, they duke it out using the X-Wing stuff.

That would be the shit.

Mixing the game sounds cool on paper, but it looks like fighters take a very minimal role in this game so I don't think it'd be worth it. It sounds like they are little gun turrets that cause a bit of disruption...but to suddenly break from one game to play out another game that has minimal relevance in the bigger game...I think I'd rather just focus on one or the other rather than potentially draw out a 2hr game into a multi-day affair.

My preference would be a lager campaign game that broke down into this game. Rather than this game breaking down into XWing.

We've officially reached another milestone as well...On BGG the thread commenting on the price has now outpaced the thread commenting about the game.

I think the "just a minor nuisance" factor might change once they've introduced the Y wings and B wing bombers, as well as whatever the torpedo boats were for the imperials.
