I have found a lot of the bosses want you to mix rolling, shielding, and running around/jumping to find their openings. Like some combos it's roll through the first two hits and shield the last for a big counterattack, stuff like that.

I rolled up on a dude sitting by a fire, thinking it was just another guard. I immediately started wailing on him, and he started pleading, and I realized it was a merchant! He attacked me quite vigorously, but I escaped and warped away.

Will he be pissed at me forever?

The turtle shell is cool, it enhances stamina recovery…which is crucial for me as I go for a volume of light attacks and blocking. I’ve put quite a few stones into it, it might go the distance with me. I think the first flail I found might too. My Arcane is the pits so I doubt I’ll get the pumpkin man to drop his.

I’ve got a ton of cool shit I don’t even use. Wish the chest could transfer across characters. I did get the Royal Remains, they are…OK I guess. Really too heavy for me but the poise boost is good. It’s an ugly set.

Bears are still my #1 enemy. I fucking hate them.

Oh, I had a boss fight bug out…Leonine down in Castle Morne…he killed me, I go back to where he is and there’s nothing there. Summoning sign for Edgar is gone. I check my inventory and yep, there’s that stupid Iron Throne sword
He drops.

Making my way slowly through the first castle past Margit. Classic dark souls stuff. Finally beat up one of those angel knights.

Oh yeah man Stormveil is the classic From Software castle crawl, isn’t it? There are some really tough bits- the hail of crossbow bolts in that main area just puts me down every time. I had to just bum rush that area, putting out my +4 wolves to distract the like 57 soldiers out there. And then there’s that Lion thing. Jeez.

I beat Godrick today and OMG it was a joke. Me and a cooperator just tore him to pieces. I don’t thing I went below 3 flasks. I’ve got a +10 Keen Flail that certainly helped and I am probably way overleveled (50). His loot was decidedly meh though, two strength/faith weapons. Keeping the flail LOL.

I also ran into the lady champion in Stormveil- apparently you can meet her at The Hold too. Well, I accidentally attacked her so…I killer her and took her two Stormhawk Axes. They look pretty promising in a dual wield situation but I’m not sure what the value is in dual wielding right now.

Looks like Caelid is next? I know there is that castle pot boy mentioned and it is rather well guarded. I got chased by those awful mutant dogs on the way theee and lured them straight into the camp. Sat back and watched them fight the soldiers and made like 5000 runes LOL.

The singing harpy thing was awesome.

The area to the north of Stormveil is considerably more doable next than Caelid fyi

I mean do what you want, but I'm getting fucked up by stuff in Caelid currently at level 75 so yknow

Ha I did a ton of Liturnia BEFORE Stormveil. Like, I had already been in Godrick’s throne room 20 hours ago or so.

But yeah, Caelid can fuck off.

I am still somewhat unsure if this game is as good as everyone thinks, I think there's clumsy stuff and it is definitely reusing mostly old From stuff in an open world remix... but it is exactly what I need right now.

I love it, and honestly think it is like a more action-oriented Skyrim. But it really does like to crank up the difficulty. Perhaps an easy mode would just allow you to bank your runes. And I know you can technically do that with the twig.

I finally got strong enough to take down that gold horse riding bastard from the beginning. I was disappointed to learn that I only got to kill him once.

Haha, I just did him in two days ago! Also a similar dude who gives you a flail in Morne. Knocking that dude on his ass and stabbing him in the face is so satisfying.

Alright well the Radahn fight seems to be purposefully designed to be the least fun thing possible.

Like this makes me want to quit the game.

I've heard some very bad things about the last few bosses difficultywise...
