What MOVIE(s) have you been....seeing? watching?
I saw it last week as well, but I absolutely loved it. I had very low expectations going in, but it really surprised me with good action and great heart.DarthJoJo wrote: Saw Spider-Man: No Way Home about a week ago now, and I’m still not totally sure how I feel about it.
I didn't get that read on it at all. The rest of your points are valid, but this one has much more nuance than I think you're giving it.The plot though?
Warning: Spoiler!it throws Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men under the bus. They were the brutes who let their enemies die. They solved their problems with violence, not their empathy and brains, and I don’t think that is totally fair to their movies.

A NO POINT did Peter Parker realize that he could make MILLIONS as the smallest NFL quarterbacker in history and help his friends that way.

What? His origin story is literally him trying to go into pro wrestling.

Maybe we should interpret the origin of most superheroes as some sort of criticism of effective altruism.
Millionaire Peter Parker donating 10+% of his salary would probably do more with his great power and responsibility than his current methods. At least Bruce Wayne appears to be Batman on top of his philanthropic efforts.

Or asking why we have stories of Zeus screwing everything that moved or Thor being tricked into drinking the ocean instead of using their divine powers to keep people warm and fed.Erik Twice wrote: In the end, I think asking why Batman doesn't donate to charity is a bit like asking why in Gundam they don't use tanks instead of cool space robots. Sure, you can make a good argument about it, but, in the end, does it really matter?

No Time To Die - It didn't do much for me; too long and overstuffed with a bunch of stuff I didn't really care about.

Well, like in the Wick movies, life just doesn't let them do that. Still, some of the action scenes, especially in the second movie, were awesome.

Shellhead wrote: A lost weekend of heist movies. First, I watched The Italian Job. Then Ocean's Eleven, Twelve, and Thirteen. They are all effectively urban fantasy movies, no more realistic than your average vampire movie. It was a pleasant but empty experience, all glittering surfaces devoid of meaning.
I just got to work, and now I want to go home and rob the Golden Grin Casino in Payday 2.
