Codenames Pictures is a Codenames version that uses Pictures instead of words - Is it just better?

I'm very interested whether this is considered a hot take or run of the mill: I think Codenames Pictures is MUCH better than regular Codenames.

For those who don't know, Codenames Pictures is just the same as Codenames, but there are pictures on the cards instead of words.

I wrote a ranking of all the Codenames versions in which I explain in more detail why I think Pictures is the best. But, it really just comes down to the old adagium: a picture says more than a 1,000 words.

And that also means that pictures conjure up many more associations than words do. And since Codenames is an association game, this just makes the game better. You can be much more creative and telling with hints, there's more opportunities for hilarious misunderstandings, and so forth.

So, I'm honestly not sure whether everyone who reads this agrees, or if there are word-lovers out there who prefer the original Codenames. Please comment if you have a strong opinion either way, I'm curious.
