The first run and gun was the worst due to a ridiculous part where you have to parry off a projectile to dash over a large enemy. Drawing the projectile - a spore cloud from a mushroom - on the correct trajectory, and managing to parry it in the precise location, as well as avoiding the acorns from the machine, ended my run more times than I can count. Each of the other levels had their own problem areas but the tree level wasn't bad at all and I cleared it on my second try.
I was considering saving the pacifist runs for a later date but it's literally the only thing I could do in the game that my son hasn't done yet, so I made sure to complete it before he got home from a sleepover so I could show it off to him when he got home. Now just to track down that last 2% that's keeping me from 100% completion...

Finished The Signal from Tolva a short while ago, and man, was it a letdown. I thought there would be more to the game than what was actually offered. Oh, well.

This is definitely the best Borderlands game in existence. That said, there was only ONE side character I could tolerate the entire time. I ended up doing very few side missions just because I didn't want to hear more dialog.
They really need to make the opening cinematic skippable.

The opening cinematic has gone downhill from 1 to 2 to 3.hotseatgames wrote: First play-through of Borderlands 3 done. That was with FL4K the beastmaster. Rather than do their run again in True Vault Hunter mode, I'm starting over with Zane.

I know what you mean about enemies hitting hard; it almost doesn't seem to matter how good your shield is; many enemies will destroy it in one shot regardless.

I don't jump on new consoles regardless, but I've got so many unfinished PS4 and PSVR games that I probably won't be ready for the next system until PS5 Pro comes out.

Did you pick up Racket Fury for PSVR? It has multiplayer now. Are you a Firewall player? Other PSVR games?

I do have Racket Fury. Its neat but mostly makes me want to play actual ping-pong. I'm sadly not a fan of online multiplayer in general. PSVR has thus far been just a novelty for me I play around with sometimes. Moved a couple months ago and still haven't even hooked it back up to my PS4. Maybe I'll do that this weekend.

It's not perfect, and frankly the praise it's getting feels alittle over the top. Some is probably backlash due to the Fallout76 premium stuff.
But man, it's been great to play. take fallout new vegas, put it in space and throw a heavy in dash of firefly. Some genuinely funny writing, some hard decisions, and fun characters. It's still mostly a shooter-rpg, but they've incorporated all the non-combat skills *into* combat. so your dialog skills (persuasion, intimidate, lie) have combat effects. alittle gamey definitely, but at least you aren't hamstrung if you focus on non-combat options.

outer worlds... im just burned out on that type of game permanently i think. i put 200-300 hours into fallout 3 and skyrim and, while i greatly enjoyed those games, i think im pretty good on playing another one ever again.

My next go round was easier, and after several rounds of "Kitava, I've come to bargain." I finally finished it. The epilogue stuff was harder than I anticipated, so I restarted once more. This time, I started a PoE Blight character, a witch.
Blight League just adds a fantasy equivalent of a Tower Defense game, kill all the monsters, and you get various cysts that provide items, oils, or armor and weapons. The oils are actually the best of the items, as if you have a certain combination, you can unlock skills directly, without spending the skill points to branch to them, saves time.
I'm currently playing the Witch, which is what I should have played from the very start. She's a minion maker, and it feels incredibly satisfying when YOU'RE doing the mobbing and not the other way around. It's also a lot easier, as I've only died once so far with this character.
