Is Supernatural still on? How's that show shaking out? I caught the first season, but wasn't able to stay with it for any regularity after that. Is it worth going through a few early seasons?

Yeah its planned for 10 seasons so its still on. The show changes over time going less on the horror aspect and later builds up a pretty cool angels/demons mythology while keeping things lighthearted

I'm on the Canadian Netflix, which only has season 1. Great show.

I spent the last 4 days watching The Walking Dead s3. All the wankers who thought it was the worst season are out of their minds. Its likely the most emotionally gripping show ever made. Shit, it may be the best show ever made, period.

I haven't watched it for quite a while....

Is that the opinion of you guys?

It got bad for me a while ago when they all got girlfriends and a lot of the stories revolved around them.

I thought it got unfunny at the end of season 2 when Leonard and Penny started dating.

My wife says the same thing but if you just compare it to Game of Thrones, it pales in comparison, I think. I think it's good and everything but very, very often absolutely nothing happens in an episode. I dunno, I'll likely give this season a try but it's wearing off for me. Too bad cuz I love the premise.

Started a second run-through of the British "Sherlock", which may be the best television show I've ever seen. I love it.

I couldn't agree more. This show is so goddamn good. It's been free to stream on Netflix and Amazon Prime...so it's readily available. I HIGHLY recommend checking it out.

New Sherlock was okay. I prefer the original time period of the stories so I'll never be a big fan of the new one. Worth watching though.

Whitechapel had a good shot at the brass ring but a lot of the plot is so contrived that it faded off for me.

Love the character-driven story though.

And Barney....what's supposed to happen in an episode of TWD? A show that's 100% action and 0% character development becomes TJ Hooker. Bad example..I know you like hookers.

lol, good point Petey. I'm just sayin' that it's not the most emotionally gripping show ever nor the best show ever. As one example, i find AGOT to be better in both those metrics, even in episodes where nothing happens!

My favourite episodes of WD are ones where nothing much happened but there are some pretty bad episodes out there for such a great show (and there are some amazing episodes too). The show is good, no doubt, but i no longer consider it great I think.

I have yet to see AGOT, maybe that's why I'm so jazzed. I've seen Mad Men, Battlestar G, Grimm, and all kinds of other shows that are action/story/character in equal proportions and I found them all to be missing something, although BSG is sensationally well done.

I'm not even a big zombie fan, although I'm not Anti-Zombie from a TV perspective. It's just got such an amazing cast, wonderful acting, and a great, solid story based on a REALLY great story. It just grabbed me. Sadly, I need to wait a year to see Season 4.

My issue with the Walking Dead is that I hate every character. I root for the zombies.

Some other shows this is definitely true for me, but I do like several of the WD characters. Not sure I'd want to hang with them post-apoc (except the farmers daughters maybe) but most of the survivors at this point I'd like to see continue surviving.

count me in on farmer's daughter, Maggie, as well. Glenn has to get chomped this season, he HAS to.
