I bought Strongholds ages ago, I could never get into it. There didn't seem to be much there. Maybe updates have added some value to it.

Just downloaded Legendary Wars...it's supposedly a medieval Plants Vs. Zombies mixed with some Castle Crashers. We'll see about that.

Also playing some Dungeon Raid. Standard match-3, but it adds XP bars and monsters. Which automatically makes it addictive.

The aforementioned Game Dev Story is on sale for $0.99 today, if anyone else was tempted by it.

Is this multiplayer only, or is there a single player game here? It's on sale today, and I'm thinking of picking it up.

EDIT: Tried the free version, looks like it's multiplayer only.

Holy Crap. Dungeon Raid is incredibly addictive.

If you like Legendary War you'll probably like CrystalWar

I played 27 straight DEV STORY games. My biggest hit was 1.2M for a GameKid based Life Sim, nothing super explosive. The licensing fees for these new systems are an ass kicking. $10m? Cripes.

Played some BUBBLE BALL. Pretty awesome free game.

GameDev Story needs to get some leaderboards up in there.

My top sellers were dropping 50-60m units! Wereboner 2 forever!

I've certainly had a lot of fun with Game Dev Story, but the endgame's a little lacking. Once you have the final office upgrade and have hired the best coders, there really isn't much to do. You can't possibly fuck up, and even if you could, you have so much money that it wouldn't make a difference.

I've been playing Doodle Hero this afternoon. It's a whack-a-mole, where the enemies get tougher over the levels, but with weapon, health, etc. upgrades you can purchase with the gold you earn for killing monsters. Fun, and free for a limited time.

Am I supposed to be firing and hireing new people? I haven't fired anyone.
I don't get the training either. The more expensive training seems no better than the cheaper training.

Yes, you should be hiring new people. You can get better personnel that way; much better than levelling up and training gets you. It makes a huge difference.

Dungeon Raid is cool. Similar to the INdiana Jones game in the respect of finding the best path to collect things, though I think IJ is better overall for the time/action/theme aspects. Still, this is very good. But I wish it had a campaign mode or a save mode, where you didn't have to start from scratch each time. It seems to take quite a while with each game before it starts getting interesting, and I'd rather skip ahead on that. I got nearly 3,000 points in my second game but haven't come close to that again in about a dozen plays, so I don't know what the heck I did that time that I haven't done since. As it is, though, you might be stocked up really well on everything and seemingly invincible for a while, and a certain boss or collection of monsters hits and you're dead in no time.

No save = no purchase.

It'll save your game where you left off if you have to exit out of the program... but as far as I can tell there isn't a function where you can save it at a particular spot, so if you die afterwards you could come back to that point. That's what I would like. I wouldn't consider it a dealbreaker without that, either. It's still pretty great as it is. But it just seems like you have to slog through the same boring early part every time to get to where it's more interesting, and I'd like to be able to skip that.
